TIDY TOWNS

The Tidy Towns committee are hard at it as usual.

There are a couple of projects that will be highlighted over the coming months that should interest everyone in the area. One is to do with paving the walkways throughout main street in Schull and just to make our village that bit more special (not to mention raise a bit of cash) they have come up with a great idea of selling customised bricks to liven things up.

Brick-Buy-BrickBrick—Buy—Brick

The Brick-Buy-Brick fund-raiser gives you a unique opportunity to own a part of Schull. Buy a personalised brick for €35, decide what you want inscribed on it, and the brick will be integrated into the footpath on Schull Main Street. You can choose a personal message, make it a “family brick” for you and your family, or a memorial gift for a loved one. You can be as inventive as you like (within reason of course).

My Outer Space

My—Outer—Space

through the Tidy Towns My-outer-space campaign they are asking you to select an area that you would be willing to keep beautiful! Maybe there is a particular spot that you visit regularly or a route that you walk your dog every day or a place that is particularly special in your heart. They want you to take ownership of this space and treat it like your own. This could be by way of litter-picking, weeding, gardening or general maintenance. When you sign-up as a member of the campaign you will be provided with a pack containing information and everything you might need to help you with the task.
