Schull
Girl Guide have friends from around Ireland down for a campout at the
Schull Sailing Centre
Our Girls get highest awards given in Ireland
THE GOLD CORK AWARD
Isn't
it great that we have such facilities, and generous hosts in the name
of Tim O'Conner, principal SCC and David Harte, head of SSC, who so graciously
allowed the campout and use of facilities.
The
sailing centre is a fantastic facilities, with it's newly done dormatories
(we were the first to use them). Kitchen and dining facilities make the
job much easier for all concerned.
Upon
arrival it was not difficult to understand why the girls weren't hopping
to it and getting the tents up right away. With the sea just a step away
and calm water, who would want to do any work at all. But work must be
done and within an hour the tents are up and ready for habitation. The
problem is ,,,, they just keep coming. It was great to end up with nearly
40 girls and leaders to have an overnight event here is Schull.
If
you spot a few bright neckerchiefs around the village this weekend it
is because they are having a bit of a scavenger-hunt and might stop you
for a couple of hints - don't help them!
